Who is looking after your side of the implementation?
Advice & guides · Project delivery
The supplier’s work is one part of an implementation. Your organisation also needs to prepare its people, data and decisions.
Make the internal work visible
List the tasks your organisation owns: confirming processes, preparing data, testing, training, communications and deciding when it is ready to change over.
Allow time for decisions
Projects can stall while teams wait for a business decision. Identify who has authority, what information they need and when the answer is required.
Plan testing around real work
Confirm which staff will test, how they will record results and who will decide whether an unresolved issue prevents go-live.
Look beyond the launch date
Agree support arrangements, responsibility for remaining issues and how you will check that the system is being used as intended.
